In our 50th episode of the Madness Chronicles, we’ll look at the madness in today’s military. Remember, madness is a state of being mentally ill, severely, extremely foolish behavior, and a form of frenzied or chaotic activity. Let’s take a look at some really maddening things in today’s armed forces.
We’ll start with news close to home. I’m a Marine Vietnam Vet, and a local friend of mine is too. He was a machine gunner in Nam. He’s had a successful life, raised three productive boys, and is a retired builder. He knows when he has issues, so he checked himself into the VA state PTSD clinic. One day he is in group therapy with other vets when in walks a guy our age in a dress and carrying a purse.
He promptly cozies up to my friend, who said, “Touch me, and I’ll knock you out!” My friend was then singled out and within a day told to either leave the program, or they were going to file ‘hate crime’ charges against him. He opted out, never to return again. Wokeness has won the VA.
In a recent headline, I read that my Marine Corps worked to develop a new lightweight better fitting uniform for PT, physical training. That’s news today? They have announced that the man who sold N-95 masks to the VA for $25 per mask has been arrested in more VA news. The charge, price gouging. I have an idea. How about firing the moron buyer in the VA who approved the purchase.
The Navy has removed the Commander of the destroyer Forrest Sherman. He was relieved of command five days before his scheduled changing of command ceremony. His egregious deed? A year ago, the Forrest Sherman interdicted, and gun-running ship loaded to the brim with AK-47’s destined for the bad guys. Since his command was ending, he thought it fitting to make a plaque for his crew and the ship. The plaque would feature an AK-47 on it. For that, his Navy career is ruined, and his life won’t be fairing well either.
The thousands of National Guard troops sent to DC so Biden could have someone at his inauguration aren’t fairing too well. First, as most know, there were no accommodations planned, and they were sleeping in parking garages. Now the food contractors have come up short, so the Guard troops are now ordering take out from local restaurants. Which I guess is good for business during the shutdown over the fake pandemic.
In more ‘shoot me now’ news, the Army is under attack on its own for not allowing soldiers to grow beards. A petition was started online and has garnered 55,000 signatures to attempt to force the Army to comply. With Jihad Joe’s anointing, they might be forced to give in. Talk about madness; the military purpose has nothing to do with being a social experiment.
When the military first started their ‘time out’ cards, where a recruit can hand the DI a card and ask for space, the late, highly decorated Army veteran David Hackworth said it best in an interview on Fox News. When asked about the new ‘time outs,’ he said, “I sure as hell hope the Chinese recognize these chits when they attack, or we’re in big trouble.” How right he is.
Let’s end with some good news. There may not be beards allowed in the new Army dress guidelines just yet, but Army men can now wear clear nail polish and tint their hair. In honor of Mr. Hackworth, I’ll bet the Chinese troops will be impressed.
May we wake from this madness before it’s too late. I wish you good health, and until next time, have fun, enjoy life, and watch out for the madness amongst us. It’s 2020; look around; it’s outrageous.
